The Summer Squash Leagues start this month and the May squash leagues are available on the site and can be found here or by following the Quick Link at the top of the right hand column.
For the Summer Leagues the PAR (Point a Rally) scoring method is being introduced. It is to be a point a rally to 15 points per game.
Should the score reach 14-14 the receiver may request 1 or 3 points. Therefore the game can be won 15-14 or 17-16/15/14.
The Lockerbie team sponsored by D & C Lindsay Forestry clinched the John Henderson’s and Sons Dumfries and Galloway Division One league title last Thursday night in the closest finish seen in years.
With the Lockerbie outfit having to secure 12 points against a full strength Finite team to take the title everyone would have to play their A game on the night to take the title.
With Rab Grierson and Kenny Little up against Graeme Fraser and Jock Glendinning, things looked bleak for the home side as Rab and Graeme headed into a fifth game and Kenny was 8/2 down in the fourth against a determined looking Jock. Read the rest of this entry »
