Due to the recent bad weather, the proposed Dumfries CC Paintballing event on Sunday the 26th of October, in association with Garrison Paintball, has been postponed as the site is flooded.
The event will now be staged on Sunday the 9th of November. Please contact Chris McCutcheon (Tigger) for further details.
The annual paintballing session takes place this year on Sunday the 26 October from 12 to 4pm. The event is run by cricket sponsors Garrison Paintball and the cricket section and takes place at Roys Wood, Steilston, near Newtonairds, D&G. The cost is a special price of £25 and people can sign up themselves, or as a group, at the bar or contact Chris McCutcheon.
All sports club members and friends are welcome. Don’t miss this opportunity for some healthy rivalry between the club’s different sports!

The cricket fun day takes place next Saturday. In a packed programme there is something for the juniors, for those eager to hear of their win in the Runs Sweepstake, through to the idle spectator. So do try to drop in during the day to sign off the season. Any juniors who still want to play but are not able to enter a mini-team please contact Trefor who will allocate a place. To mark the first SNCL league fixture of the cricket season there is a Band, BBQ and late licence on Saturday evening after the game against RH Corstorphine at Nunholm. All sports club members are welcome. So it should start around 7:30 with a small cover charge to provide the music.
There is a Sports Club Quiz night on Saturday evening, 29th March at 7:30pm. This is open to all sections and includes a buffet. Teams of 4, and of all ages. Families welcome. Cost is £5 a head (to pay for the buffet). Any profit will be donated to charity.
Names of those interested can be added to the list behind the bar. Money will be collected on the night.
The Squash Club Dance will be held on Saturday, the 19th April 2008 in the clubhouse. Tickets will be available from behind the bar shortly. There will be a £50 prize ticket draw at 2130hrs. You must be in it to win it and be there to collect.
Dumfries Men came out second on Sunday in their encounter with the side from West District Division 1 in the District Plate competition.

The Annual Dumfries Cricket Club Dinner will take place on Friday, the 28th March at the Casa Mia restaurant opposite the clubhouse. It is at 18:45 for a 19:00 start to sort out the stragglers.
The cost is £15 a head. This provides for a three course meal and is payable on the night. It will also be an opportunity to thank the club sponsors for their much appreciated support of the cricket club. Read the rest of this entry »
There was no respite for the bar staff at the weekend. After the full-house at the Friday Poker night they were faced with the 24 participants in the Squash Chairman’s Birthday Bash handicap event on Saturday night. This time it was Soup and Salad rather than Bottles of Beer but resulted in another busy night. Rumours that the Chairman is to institute an official birthday in order to arrange another event have been denied by her spokesperson.

As the Grease soundtrack merged into the subconscious, while it played on Dakota Dave’s Sky music channel, an excellent turn-out of thirty three players started out on the odyssey that is the cricket club Poker Challenge.
The ‘legendary’ poker night, organised by the cricket club (i.e. Mr Curator, Davie Davidson), is back by popular demand after the pre-Christmas success.
The venue is the clubhouse. The time is 7pm on Friday the 15th (£5 entry and buy-in). New players and spectators are welcome.
