Tennis
Dumfries Tennis Club is the main club in South West Scotland and has operated from the Nunholm grounds for over 100 years. It still retains its family atmosphere and offers something for every standard of player.
The four courts are all weather synthetic grass with full floodlighting. There is a courtside pavilion with a small kitchen, changing and toilet facilities.
Club Nights
These run from April to September on Mondays and are open to any senior and junior members who have the ability to play doubles matches. You can come along at any time between 6.30pm until whenever suits to play fun competitive sets with other players. On the last Monday of each month there will be a draw for partners in the doubles competition.
Coaching
Our tennis coach is Colin Dunbar who is able to provide coaching for all ages and standards. Regular coaching groups are held and individual coaching can be arranged. Colin is a fully qualified DCA coach.
Juniors
We have a strong junior structure in place with coaching for all ages from the very young to secondary school age. We have a good, and increasing, number of juniors of all ages. There are junior teams in different age groups competing in the South of Scotland LTA National Club League. For any further information please contact Colin Dunbar on 07762624329 or come down to the club and chat to him at 5:30 on Tuesdays.
Match Nights
These are generally held on a Wednesday from April to September. We run a variety of men’s, ladies and mixed teams in the local South West League. The men’s team competes in the National Scottish Club League and has been very successful. We also enter cup competitions locally and nationally.
Tournaments
The club runs its own championships for all senior and junior members of the club. This includes open singles and doubles as well as handicap events. We aim to run an open event during the year. There is information about tournaments held at other clubs on the notice board in the main clubhouse.

Booking Courts
It is compulsory to book courts at all times. Members are kindly requested to book the courts through the computerised meter situated in the corridor of the main clubhouse. The cost for booking the court is 20p. There is an additional cost for floodlit tennis of £2.20 per hour and £1.10 per hour for two juniors which is also paid for through the meter.
Benefits
The club is also an LTA affiliated club and so senior and junior members can apply for free, or discounted, membership of British Tennis with access to ticket benefits, competition information, newsletters and coaching tips.
