Individuals and teams of 5 people upwards are invited to join in. Amanda Creedon-Bass from the Sports Club said “The emphasis is on a fun few hours of activities which will give an opportunity to have a go at a variety of sports; netball, football, tennis, cricket, and hockey plus an obstacle course with prizes for the winning team and as importantly the best-dressed team. No experience is necessary, just bring your trainers and your friends.”

Sandra Proudfoot, Head of Delegation for the Special Olympics Team, said on behalf of Dumfries and Galloway Disability Sport that “it is great that the club are supporting us as a charity. We hope that the inspiration of the Rio Olympics and Team GB will inspire a few people to have a go and try some new activities. Appropriately the inspiration of the Paralympics for those we help will be starting in Rio the following Wednesday”.

Entries to the “Trainers On” event can be made by emailing dumfriessrc@gmail.com and sending in an entry fee of £30 per team, with proceeds destined for D&G Disability Sport.

DUMFRIES SPORTS CLUB – MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2016

The new membership year starts from 1st March 2016.

Members who pay for the whole year by cash or cheque are asked to complete a new membership form, tick the renewal box and drop their payment (Cheque or Cash) into the bar, the bar is open from 5pm during the week and from 1.30pm Saturday or Sunday. Please get a receipt for your payment.

Life Members and Members continuing to pay the same amount by Direct Debit do NOT need to do anything, their details will be transfer automatically and likewise any reduced change in totals will be completed by the club.

Members who wish to pay by Card using the PayPal service can do so by logging in to their club account (details can be provided if you don’t know yours), select the “Top-up via PayPal” button, using the drop down menu then select the appropriate amount then add your card details (you may need to repeat this if paying for a Couple or Family Membership to cover the full amount). Any additional funds above your membership fee will be left in your club account.

Please Note; If you choose to do it this way please let me know before hand and I can remove the sum straight-away. You don’t need a PayPal account to do this.

If you need to update your details you can login and complete this yourself or complete the membership form and tick the renewal box. Likewise if you have changed your bank details, please complete a new DD form and let us know.

Over the last few years we have welcomed many new members so please note the following;

Guests

Members are allowed to bring guests to the club for a drink, a game of squash or tennis, however, we ask that you please complete the visitors book which is located at the bottom of the stairs. Members are not allowed to bring guests to use the gym. Members are asked to restrict the same guest to no more that 3 games of either squash or tennis per year. Anything above that then please ask them to join on a Trial Membership.

Trial Membership

Trial Memberships cover a 2 year period, therefore if a Trial Member does not join after their 2 months Trial ends they will NOT be allowed another Trial until a 2 year period has lapsed. They can join as a full/Pro-rata member at anytime after their trial has ended.

Direct Debits

The Direct Debit payment option was introduced to make it easier for members to pay their subscriptions, unfortunately this means that those members are paying their fees in arrears. Therefore, should a member decide to cancel their payments before full payment has been received then the club will NOT automatically accept this member back the following year or beyond, the club may ask for the outstanding balance to be paid upfront before they are considered. These cases will be discussed by the Management Committee.

PLEASE NOTE, MEMBERS WHO FAIL TO COMPLETE THEIR MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL BY 18TH MARCH 2016 WILL HAVE THEIR KEY FOB DEACTIVATED.

On behalf of the Management Committee

Power switch off – Mon lunchtime

27 11 2015

The club are currently installing Solar Panels, to complete these works we need to switch all power off to allow this to happen.

Therefore we are advising you that on Monday 30th between 11am and 2pm there will be no power in the Sports Club. This will obviously cause some disruption to the booking system, door entry, squash courts, the treadmills, the lights, the heating and the hot water.

Everything should be back to normal by 2pm if not sooner but this will mean that the squash courts will be slightly cooler due to the lack of heat for this period. The club apologies for the inconvenience.

The Management Committee

Sports Club Notice about the Car Park

15 11 2015

The Sports Club will be getting some work done on the rear roof from Sunday 15th November and as a consequence, this will have an impact on the rear car park.

The works should be completed within the week (weather dependent) but there will be a scaffold up against the building and this will reduce car parking spaces during the week.

The club would therefore ask all members to be extra cautious when parking their car.The scaffold company will dictate how much of the car park will be open. If possible please consider car sharing to reduce the volume of cars.

Please don’t park on the main road out of courtesy to our neighbours.

Many thanks for your consideration with this matter.
