The Dumfries Sports Club also offers a well-equipped Fitness Suite for use by members.
Opening hours: Monday – Sunday 6:00 – 22:00
Guest’s are not allowed to use the gym.
Cardiovascular fitness equipment is available for running, cycling, elliptical training, and rowing, together with
resistance and gym equipment for chest, shoulder, back, leg, arm and abdominal muscles,
plus an array of weights equipment with weights bench.
All of this is in a self-contained gym with a first-floor view over the cricket ground. The gym is at one end of the clubhouse which means that you can concentrate on your work-out without being overlooked or surrounded by a throng of people.
This combined with the rest of the club facilities offers a sustainable approach to keeping fit, namely variety.
You can combine your gym work with one of the club’s core sports, e.g. a game of tennis or squash, utilise the expertise of the running club with their beginner’s night or club nights, and take advantage of the location and run/jog/walk alongside the River Nith, or be bold and time your lap(s) of the cricket ground which is Nunholm’s very own version of the 400 metres.
