David McNaught Memorial Tree Planting

10 10 2011

David McNaught

Memorial tree planting

Saturday October 15th

1.30pm at Nunholm

All friends invited

David was one of the founder members of Dumfries Running Club and gave years of service as club treasurer and he was absolutely fundamental to the growth and development of the Dumfries Half marathon that celebrated its 30th anniversary this September.

David was also a long standing and dependable committee member at Dumfries Sports Club who modestly put in a power of work behind the scenes. He always offered encouragement and took great delight in the successes of others and this has came out very strongly in the reaction to his passing. It is entirely fitting that his ashes will be interred at his spiritual home of Nunholm and a tree planted in his memory. (Extract from David McNaught’s obituary)
