The Dumfries Hockey Club are backing an international campaign to end violence against women.

The hockey club and Solway Sharks have backed Amnesty International’s white ribbon campaign, which runs from November 24 to 28.

The Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women Partnership has invited local clubs to get involved by wearing the ribbons at matches. By sporting a white ribbon, wearers pledge never to “condone, commit or remain silent” about domestic violence towards women.

The White Ribbon Campaign, which began in 1991, is the world’s largest campaign to end domestic violence against women.
