Benfield Park Nunholm set for 2012 season

The cricket season starts this Saturday with Dumfries CC playing at home at Nunholm when the first eleven, APD Dumfries, play a pre-season friendly against Paisley side Ferguslie. This is in preparation for the competitive club fixtures which start the following weekend with a Scottish Cup match at home on the Saturday against Weirs.

Dumfries’s Tom McBride completed his Scotland U19s South Africa pre-season tour with a fifty in the last game, albeit in the one match that Scotland lost in their seven matches, to complete a good preparation for the season ahead and the U19 World Cup in Australia in August.

After the completion of the club’s indoor junior coaching the busy outdoor Monday junior sessions are starting at Nunholm on Monday the 23rd April, 6:15-8pm. These are open to non-members and new, and beginner, boys and girls are very welcome to come along.

Senior training takes place at Dumfries Sports Club, Nunholm from 6 to 8 on Tuesdays and on Fridays. New players are very welcome for the season ahead and can contact Trefor Williams on 01387 256455, or email dumfriescricketclub@gmail.com, or introduce yourself at a club training session.
