She was nominated for, amongst other things, her coaching of girls’ football and her enthusiasm for coaching junior sport. She was also one of the five torch bearers that celebrated the torch volunteers at a ceremony down in London in March.
She has brought that same enthusiasm to cricket which she only took up at the end of last summer. Rosy was an inportant member of the side that won the Cricket Scotland Peebles Women’s Indoor Sixes at a first attempt and as a result she was invited to the Scotland age group training sessions over the winter.She has also demonstrated that enthusiasm for coaching and helped the club by assisting with a cricket taster session at a local primary school Olympics day recently.
So it was runs at Nunholm on Tuesday (24 not out in a win in the Scottish Women’s Cup) and a run up Annan Road with the Olympic Torch on Thursday. And no drops!
