Congratulations from Dumfries Sports Club. The Club has two Scottish Squash Champions in its midst. Jimmy Wells won the O45 title and Davy Rogan the O75 title at the Nationals Masters in Aberdeen recently. Runners-up were Robin Ridley – O50s and Davy Rogan – O70s.
The D&G Closed U-30 Championships were held last weekend at the Club and the Final was won by the club’s Chris McCutcheon.

The Squash Club Semi-finals day is this Saturday from 1pm. Finals day is on the following Saturday, the 24th, from 12:15, followed by the End of Season Dance in the evening from 8:30. Tickets at the bar.

The Tennis Section is delighted to be able to offer to members (for purchase at face value) tickets for the Wimbledon Championships commencing Monday 25 June 2012 and concluding Sunday 8 July 2012. The tickets are sold in pairs. This year we have received an excellent ticket allocation which is an increase on previous years as follows:
1. 2 x tickets for Wednesday 27 June 2012– court 2 (£43 each)
2. 2 x tickets for Saturday 30 June 2012 – court 1 (£60 each)
3. 2 x tickets for Monday 2 July 2012 – court 1 (£67 each)
4. 2 x tickets for Tuesday 3 July 2012 – centre court (£82 each)
5. 2 x tickets for Thursday 5 July 2012 – centre court (£95 each)
The allocation of the tickets will be decided by ballot and there are two conditions of entry into the ballot:-
1. Must be members of Dumfries Sports Club.
2. Must be members of British Tennis by 16th April 2012.
British Tennis membership is available from www.lta.org.uk/membership. It is free to join.
Those wishing to take part in the ballot must let Lister McKiddie know by 6.30 pm on Monday 16th April 2012 and the Ballot will take place later that evening.

Dumfries Tennis Club is holding 2 weeks of Easter tennis camps over the holidays.
The camps involve a wide range of games and activities designed to motivate and reward children of all ages, standards and abilities in a fun and safe environment.

The numbers drawn on Friday for the Sports Club February Tote were 17 and 6. There was no winner this month and there is a roll over to the March draw. March tickets can be purchased at the bar or you can now also enter for the whole of the membership year. Just ask.
The Dumfries Tennis Club’s AGM will take place on Tuesday 28th February at 7pm sharp within the Farries suite of the Sports Club.
The club are looking for new faces to join the committee as well as fresh ideas to help with upcoming events and projects.
Therefore if you have some spare time or a fund raising idea then come along and help us make a difference to your club.
Following-up on 4 titles at the East Masters in January, the Squash Club continued its winning ways this weekend at Bridge of Allan’s Central Masters and Nunholm players won 4 titles (the O40, O45, O75 and LO35 by Frank Ellis, Jimmy Wells, Davy Rogan and Sue Strachan, respectively), were runners-up in four (the O45, O50, O70 and LO50 by Ronnie Carter, Robin Ridley, Abbie Robertson and Faith Sinclair, respectively) and the O55 Plate, Raymond Kirk.

The first ever Nunholm’s Got Talent is in prospect in midsummer with a proposed date of Saturday 23rd June. So the club is looking for singers or acts. Like the show, no talent is necessary.
You can put your name forward on the notice on the club notice board. or get your agent to speak to Dougie, or Carol, when he is behind the bar, or your people can email 
The Dumfries Sports Club Membership Week for 2012/13 takes place at the end of the month and is the opportunity to renew for this year or join the Sports Club as a new member.
