DG Tennis Gents League

Dumfries A warmed up for the top of the table clash next week with a good victory over Dumfries C, winning 6-0. Stewartry CSC also recorded a 6-0 win against Dalbeattie with Dumfries B being victorious against Beechgrove 5-1 at Moffat.

DG Tennis Ladies League

Dalbeattie A secured the ladies championship with 2 games to spare after recording a 6-0 win over Dalbeattie B. With their nearest rivals going head to head in Dumfries, only a Dumfries win would keep the champagne on ice. However Stewartry CSC came out on top winning 4-2 which now means neither team can catch Dalbeattie A. In the other match Dumfries B entertained Beechgrove and recorded a well deserved victory, winning 5-1.

The men’s fixtures for Wednesday 22^nd June, Dumfries B host neighbours Dumfries C, Dalbeattie travel to Beechgrove and the match of the night has Stewartry CSC travelling to Dumfries A in a match which could decide the championship.

In the ladies league Stewartry CSC take on Beechgrove and at Dalbeattie the A team entertain Dumfries A with the B team playing Dumfries B.

DG Tennis Gents League

Stewartry CSC maintained their 100% start with a 6-0 win at home to Beechgrove. Dumfries C travelled to Dalbeattie and lost 4-2. Elsewhere Dumfries A kept their championship hopes alive with a 6-0 victory over Dumfries B.

DG Tennis Ladies League

Dalbeattie A kept on course to retaining their crown as they defeated Beechgrove 5-1. Stewartry CSC beat Dumfries B 6-0 and in the other match, Dumfries A travelled to Dalbeattie B and edged a very tight match 4-2.

The men’s fixtures for Wednesday 15^th June, Dumfries B travel to Moffat to face Beechgrove, Stewartry CSC entertain Dalbeattie and on Thursday 16^th Dumfries C take on Dumfries A.

In the ladies league Stewartry CSC travel to Dumfries A, Dalbeattie A entertain Dalbeattie B and Beechgrove travel to Dumfries B.

Over the past couple of months more and more players have failed to complete the second player booking, therefore to insure that the club still gets the correct court fee and we still have a system which allows us to check correct court usage, we are slightly changing the way day time tennis is booked. NOTE THAT THE CHANGES BELOW ARE NOW LIVE!

Please note that NO changes have occurred with regards to floodlit tennis.

The tennis club and main sports club still want to charge 20p per court session during the day, so in order to make it more user friendly the cost of the courts will now be 20p per player which has increased from the previous 10p.

However, the club will now accept (daylight tennis only) that when 1 player books/reserves a court, whether it be at the kiosk or via the internet, that this will complete the booking/reservation. This will allow players to enter the courts before their start time, which stops players hanging about the console waiting for the correct time, which was the biggest complaint/inconvenience.

This now means that only 1 player will be charged so it is up to each player to resolve who pays.

Please note the system will still take 2 players booking and charge both players, this cannot be refunded, so you have to learn quickly and the lights will continue to work with both players booking the courts as normal.

Guest Fees
The club would ask all player who bring guests down to please continue to book using their fob twice, the only difference being is that your guest fee would rise to £2.20 to complete the booking.

Stewartry CSC makes it 6 straight wins. Dumfries C were the first of the contenders to try and stop Stewartry CSC but failed, going down 6-0. Elsewhere Dumfries A travelled to Beechgrove and recorded a 6-0 score line with Dumfries B beating Dalbeattie 5-1 in the final match.

DG Tennis Ladies League

Dalbeattie A extended their lead at the top with a 6-0 win against Dumfries B. In the other matches, Stewartry CSC reversed the first week defeat by beating Dalbeattie B 4-2 and Dumfries A beat Beechgrove 6-0.

The men’s fixtures for Wednesday 8^th June, Dumfries C travelling to Dalbeattie, Dumfries A entertaining Dumfries B and Stewartry CSC at home to Beechgrove.

In the ladies league Stewartry CSC travel to Dumfries B, Dalbeattie A are away to Beechgrove and Dalbeattie B entertain Dumfries A.

This week sees Dumfries & Galloway’s second biggest tennis tournament take place at Dalbeattie on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday has the Men’s singles and Ladies doubles competitions and on Sunday the Ladies singles and men’s doubles. Both days start at 10am with refreshments available courtside. Spectators are welcome to come along and enjoy the action.

After the first 5 week Stewartry CSC sit top of the table with 5 wins out of 5 after they beat Dumfries B 5-1. Elsewhere Dumfries C travelled to Beechgrove and edged a close match 4-2. The final match of the night saw the 2010 champions Dalbeattie travel to face Dumfries A, with the Dumfries side winning 6-0.

DG Tennis Ladies League

Dalbeattie A sit top of the table with 5 wins out of 5 after beating Stewartry CSC 6-0. Dalbeattie B also enjoyed a winning night with a 4-2 win against Beechgrove. The remaining fixtures saw Dumfries A beating Dumfries B 6-0.

The men’s fixtures for Wednesday 1^st  June sees  defending champions Dalbeattie travel to meet Dumfries B, Beechgrove entertain Dumfries A and  Dumfries C take on Stewartry CSC.

In the ladies league Stewartry CSC are at home to Dalbeattie B, Dalbeattie A take on Dumfries B and Dumfries A entertain Beechgrove on Thursday 2^nd June.
