Dumfries Ladies 1st XI 4 – 2 GCW V. Sunday 4th September, KGV
Dumfries Ladies started the season well, fielding a strong side against tough opposition. This encounter was vital to Dumfries who are looking to build on their cup success last year by winning West District Division 1. The first half saw fast ball pace and some great attacking play from both sides. GCW won several penalty corners which they failed to convert and it was Dumfries who took the lead after 20 minutes. From a free hit Gill Green found Emma Miller who drove the ball into the D.From there Rebecca Topping set up Elen Austin who swept the ball into the goal from the back post to convert a well worked goal for the home side.
