Opening win over Prestwick

5 05 2008

Six v Queens ParkThe firsts, APD Dumfries, won their opening National League fixture by 6 wickets away at Prestwick on Saturday. Scott Beveridge took three wickets and Stuart Corbett-Byers scored 45 in an excellent bowling and fielding display (Prestwick 136 all out, APD Dumfries 138-4 39.3 overs).

This was the headline of the weekend but perhaps the story was the age of the Seconds and Sunday sides which justifies the youth policy at the club.
